About us

Earth/Body Balance was created by Hannah Springer in December 2008. She holds a Bachelor's in Social Work from SUNY Albany and a Master's in Social Policy from Columbia University. Her background before becoming a nutrition consultant included organic cooking for private clients, nonprofit work to benefit children, and public health research in the area of women's health and reproductive rights. In 2009 Hannah completed her training as a holistic health coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in Manhattan. However, what she teaches her clients in nutrition and cooking sessions is based on everything she has learned over the past few years while transitioning from vegetarianism to a diet of traditional foods, and while raising two young sons.

Hannah assists women in all aspects of health and wellness, with a special emphasis on fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding nutrition, and infant/child nutrition. She also helps parents heal their children from food allergies, eczema, digestive problems, behavioral disorders, malnutrition, and other conditions on the GAPS (Gut And Psychology Syndrome) spectrum. Hannah provides both individual and group instruction in cooking traditional foods, and assists families in making a gradual transition to a nutrient-dense diet.

Hannah is a passionate advocate for a diet based on nourishing traditional foods from local family farmers and fishers. She is Brooklyn chapter leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation, and leads the Traditional Nutrition Guild's Parents' Group which offers support, education, resources, and social events for families and parents-to-be. Hannah also coordinates Bay Ridge drop-offs for deliveries from Raindance Organic Farm. She lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn with her husband, Hugo Corvera, and their two boys, Oliver and Weston.
